About Us
American Arborists, LLC is a full-scale tree care and
removal company based in Andover, CT. We provide service to Harford, Tolland, Middlesex and Windham counties.
We not only prune and remove trees, but we also diagnose and provide treatment for diseased, infested and stressed trees.
We are a small company that provides big service. We understand that the road to success is paved with hard work which is why our arborists are educated, trained and licensed. As a family owned and operated business we are proud to offer excellent and precise service to our clients.
American Arborists was founded in 1994 by Nick Byam and has since been owned and operated by two of his sons, Mark and Kevin. Nick Byam graduated from the University of Vermont with a B.S. in Forestry. He and his wife Constance moved to Andover in 1979, with their three sons Sean, Mark and Kevin. Throughout their upbringing, all three boys enjoyed and labored with trees. All four (including dad) are CT Licensed Arborists.
Mark and Kevin both attended the Stockbridge School of Agriculture at UMASS, Amherst, where they learned the science of arboriculture. Mark graduated from Stockbridge in 1998, and immediately went to work at American Arborists. Kevin graduated in 2000 and worked in Lincoln, MA for a year, before returning home to work with the family.
